This farmer's market is an extension of the Yatsugatake Central Agricultural University in Nagano prefecture. The market sells a bounty of fresh local produce from small area farmers and producers, including items that are hard to find in traditional supermarkets, like chard, free-range eggs, and locally-made cheese and yogurt. They boast about the vegetables "grown under the clear blue sky of Yatsugatake Plateau at 1300 meters." Hours are around nine a.m. to five p.m. but change slightly depending on the season.
